​His Story

After returning home from the Shepherd Center I was trying to adjust to life and was using Facebook to communicate with friends. I saw Kristina's picture as a friend suggestion and thought she was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She accepted my request and we began talking and met in person a few months later. She has helped me so much with my recovery and I can't imaging going through life without her. She is truly my best friend, my soul mate and I can't wait until September 15th, 2013 when she will become my wife.

Her Story

​I was living in Atlanta at the time and was ending a relationship when I received Kalin's friend request. I didn't know him but we had a mutual friend so I sent her a message asking about him. She told me that her husband and Kalin grew up together and were like brothers. She said that he was a great guy and I would be lucky to have him as a friend. Lucky doesn't even begin to describe it! You know that happy, excited feeling you had as a kid waking up on Christmas day? That's how I feel every day I wake up next to him.
OUR STORY
The Proposal!
I entered us in a Valentines Day contest with two other couples through the Dee Armstrong Show. We went to the show to talk about our love on February 12th, 2013. During our segment Dee asked Kalin about how he shows his love to me and before I knew what was going on he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. It was a total surprise and something we will always remember. The proposal is about five minutes in. Sorry for the crappy cell phone quality of the video!
